  • 10.6 ounces (300 grams) flour
  • 0.5 decilitres of water
  • 2.6 ounces (75 grams) butter
  • A pitch of fine salt
  • Orange juice from one orange
  • 1 tablespoon firewater
  • 1 egg

How to make Christmas Wafers:

  • Start by mixing the butter, the flour and the salt very well.
  • Then, add the water, the firewater, the egg and the orange juice and knead the mixture until you get pliable and homogenous dough.
  • Find a flat surface, powder it with flour and lay the dough on it.
  • Stretch the dough until it’s thin, cut it into triangular pieces, make two cuts on each of the pieces and fry them.
  • Lastly, dip the wafers in sugar and cinnamon while they’re still hot.
