Delicious Pie Recipe

Delicious PieThis recipe is perfect for afternoon tea, but you can also serve it as a great desert.

Ingredients for the pie:

  • Pastry to linen the pie
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons (1.7 ounces / 50 grams) lard
  • 5 teaspoons (0.88 ounces / 25 grams) margarine
  • 9 tablespoons (4.4 ounces / 125 grams) flour
  • Salt and water to your taste
  • A few drops of lemon juice

Ingredients for the filling:

    • 3 eggs and two egg yolks

1 1/2 cup (12 ounces / 350 grams) sugar to cook until it reaches Firm-Ball Stage

1/2 cup (3.5 ounces / 100 grams) grinded coconut

Icing sugar to powder

How to make “Delicious Pie”:

  • Start by mixing the sugar with the eggs and the egg yolks. Don’t stop stirring.
  • Then, add the grinded coconut and keep stirring until every ingredient is well mixed.
  • Pour the cream you get into a baking pan (it should be greased and powdered with flour).
  • Put it in the oven at a medium temperature, then slowly and gradually decrease it. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes for the pie to be ready, depending on the size of the baking pan.

Firm-Ball Stage:

  • Boil 1/2 cup (12 ounces /350 grams) of sugar along with ½ cup (1.5 decilitres) of water for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • To see if it’s ready, pick some of the water with a spoon and pour it back on the pan slowly.
  • If the water forms a slightly stuck thread and the end of it looks like a small ball, it’s ready.
