English Fruit Cake

fruit english cakeThis is another recipe for the famous English Fruit Cake. It’s much appreciated when served along with good tea in the afternoon!


  • 5.3 ounces (150 grams) butter
  • 6.7 ounces (190 grams) sugar
  • 13.2 ounces (375 grams) flour
  • Half a teaspoon yeast
  • Candied fruit, nuts, pinions and raisins

How to make English Fruit Cake:

  • Start by mixing the sugar with the butter.
  • Then, add the eggs one at a time. Add the flour, mixed with the yeast and mix everything very well.
  • Wrap the fruit in flour and add it to the dough. Pour everything into a baking pan. The baking pan should be greased and powdered with flour.
  • Before a crust is formed on the cake (about 30 minutes after you put it in the oven), decorate it with half the nuts, the fruit and the pinions.
