French Crème Caramel Recipe (Portuguese style)

French Creme Caramel RecipeThe Fench Crème Caramel recipe is quick and easy to make and it’s great when you have visitors. It’s a delicious desert.


  • 7 ounces (200 grams) of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of wheat flour
  • 2 1/5 cups (0.5 l) of milk
  • 1/2 chalice of Port wine
  • Juice and zest from half orange
  • 8 tablespons (4.2 ounces / 120 grams) of sugar to make caramel

How to make Crème Caramel:

  • Start by making the caramel in a pan. Put the sugar and two tablespoons of water in the pan and stir it with a wooden spoon in low heat until it reaches the color of caramel.
  • As soon as it’s ready, pour the caramel in a steamed pudding mold and spread it throughout its borders.
  • Then, start making the crème caramel…mix the flour with the sugar and add the eggs and the milk; never stop stirring. Add the orange juice and zest and the port wine.
  • Smash everything and pour the liquid you get in the steamed pudding mold.
  • Let it cook in a boiling water bath for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • When it’s ready, remove from the heat, let it cool and put it in the fridge. Wait until the crème is cold to unmold it.

Tip: You can decorate the crème caramel with orange slices and silver dragées.
