French Toasts with Red Wine Recipe

French Toasts Red WineThis is the traditional French Toasts recipe, but with a twist: red wine. They’re great and you can make them anytime during the year. Do you have any bread leftovers? Make some French toasts!

Ingredients:

  • 1 litre of red wine
  • 1 loaf of stale bread from the previous day
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 5.29 ounces (150 grams) sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • oil or olive oil to fry
  • sugar and cinnamon to powder

How to make French Toasts with Red Wine

  • Start by slicing the bread. The slices should be about 0.39 inches (1 centimetre) wide.
  • Meanwhile, boil the red wine with the sugar, the lemon peel and the cinnamon stick for 4 minutes.  Wait until this mix cools and dip the bread slices in it.
  • Then, beat the eggs until they form a foam and dip the bread slices in them.
  • Now it’s time to fry the bread slices in the hot fat. Make sure they’re equally fried on all sides.
  • Drain the slices and dip them in sugar and cinnamon.

To decorate, use the lemon peel and cinnamon stick you used to cook.
