Nutmeg Muffins

Nutmeg-Muffins-zrChildren love Nutmeg Muffins. They are very fluffy and can last for a few days if they are well kept in a box.

  • 5.29 ounces (150 grams) flour
  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) butter
  • Lemon zest
  • 1 dessert spoon yeast
  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 millilitres milk
  • 3.5 ounces inside of walnut + a few pieces to decorate

How to make Nutmeg Muffins:

  • Nutmeg Muffins are very easy to make and you should start by turning the oven on at 350ºF (180ºC), this way you will work faster.
  • Then, mix the butter with the sugar until the mix turns creamy and consistent.
  • Next, add the lemon zest and the eggs. The eggs should be added one at a time and make sure you mix each one very well. Add the milk and stir the mix very well.
  • Now, grind the walnuts and add them to the previous mix. Add yeast to the flour and add it to the rest of the ingredients.
  • Now that your dough is ready, grease your cupcake moulds (they can be made out of silicone) with butter and powder them with flour. Cover about ¾ of each mould with dough.
  • You can add small pieces of walnut on top of each mould to decorate.
  • Place the moulds in the oven for about 20 minutes. Unmould the cupcakes when they are tepid and then powder them with powdered sugar.
