Octopus Fricassee

Octopus FricasseeThis recipe, Octopus Fricassee, is a must for those who love octopus! It’s simple and savoury. It’s quick and easy to make and it will be a hit on your table.

The ingredients in this recipe serve 5 people.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sized octopuses
  • 1 onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • Olive oil
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lemon
  • Parsley
  • 1 bay leaf

How to make Octopus Fricassee

  • Start by cooking the octopus in a pressure cooker, add a garlic clove, a bay leaf and a pinch of salt. After the pressure cooker starts whistling, you should let the octopus cook for another 20 minutes. When the octopus is cooked, cut it in pieces and leave it on the side.
  • Put a chopped onion, 2 garlic cloves and olive oil in a pan and braise them a little.
  • Then, add the octopus’ pieces, a small amount of the water where you cooked the octopus and the chicken stock cube.
  • Cook it for about 20 minutes over low heat.
  • Meanwhile, beat two eggs in a bowl, add the lemon and the parsley and put it in a pan. Cook it for 10 minutes over low heat.

As a side dish, we recommend French fries, however, you can also use rice.
