Orange Roll Recipe

Orange RollWho doesn’t like a slice of orange roll with their tea? Or for dessert? Or simply… because it’s delicious???

  • 2 tablespoons barely full of flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 14.1 ounces (400 grams) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast
  • 2 oranges (zest and juice)

For the decoration:

  • Orange circles
  • Raspberries

How to make Orange Roll

  • Start by mixing the sugar, the flour mixed with the yeast, the eggs and the orange zest and juice in a bowl.
  • Grease a baking tray (measuring about 7.8 inches/20 centimetres) with the margarine and line it with greaseproof paper.
  • Grease the greaseproof paper and powder it with sugar.
  • Put the paper on top of the dough. Put the tray with the dough in the oven at 375ºF (190ºC) for about 35 minutes.
  • When the dough is cooked, remove the tray from the oven and unmould the cake on a leaf of greaseproof paper powdered with sugar.
  • Roll the cake and use the paper to help.
  • Wait until the cake cools to remove the paper. Put the roll on a dish to serve.

If you want, you can decorate the cake with orange circles and raspberries.
