Piri-Piri Sauce

Piri-Piri SaucePiri-Piri sauce is very appreciated by those who like their food a little spicy. It’s very easy to make.

All you need to do is to find some red and green chillies, a recipient (it can be a jar or a bottle). You can easily find the other ingredients in your kitchen. But, in order to avoid unwanted surprises, read this recipe ifrst and make sure you have everything you need.

There are many ways of making Piri-Piri, some recipes require whisky, others vinegar, some even add spices or aromatic herbs. This is just one of many ways of making Piri-Piri. This is a great seasoning to marinate meat, fish and other ingredients.


  • Red chillies
  • Green chillies
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 lemon peel
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • Vinegar

How to make Piri-Piri Sauce:

When all the ingredients are gathered:

  • Wash the chillies
  • Remove their stems
  • Open the chillies in half diagonally

Piri-Piri Sauce:

  • Then, put the chillies inside a glass container (it can be a jar). Make sure they don’t fill more than 1/3 of the container.
  • Add the 1/2 onion, the lemon peel, the 2 garlic cloves, the bay leaf and salt to your taste.
  • Fill 2/3 of the container with oil and 1/3 with vinegar. Close the container completely.
  • The container where you keep the Piri-Piri sauce should be closed for 15 days. Shake it twice a day.
  • After 15 days, you can use the Piri-Piri sauce to season your food. Once you open the container, replace the lid with another that has a dispenser so that the sauce comes out in drops. Remember to shake it.

You can change this recipe slightly in order to get the taste you want.
