Patatoes BreadThis Potatoes Bread “Broas” recipe is a great choice to serve alongside tea or even for kids to take to school.

Ingredients:

  • 35 ounces (1 kilo) potatoes
  • 35 ounces (1 kilo) sugar
  • 35 ounces (1 kilo) flour
  • 5 ounces (150 grams) butter
  • 7 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • Dried and candied fruit

How to make Corn Bread (Broas):

  • Start by weighing the potatoes. Then, boil them and, once they’re cooked, use a food mill to smash them. Add the butter.
  • Add the eggs and the sugar, then mix everything. Add the flour, the cinnamon and yeast gradually.
  • When all the ingredients are mixed, add the dried fruit.
  • Lastly, shape the dough into small balls, pass them through flour and put them in the oven in a baking tray, greased and powdered with flour. The temperature should be 475ºF (240ºC).
  • It takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the bread to be ready.
