Roasted Lamb Recipe

Roasted-Lamb-zrLamb is a great meal, especially when it is roasted in the oven. In the North of Portugal, lamb is considered the official meal in gatherings.


  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flesh
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 4 decilitres white wine
  • 31.7 ounces (900 grams) lamb leg
  • 4 small carrots
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 14.1 ounces (400 grams) brocoli
  • 1 decilitre olive oil
  • Olive oil, salt and pepper to your taste
  • 1 bunch of parsley to decorate

How to make Roasted Lamb:

  • Start by pre-heating the oven at 350ºF (180ºC). Then, start preparing a mix based on red pepper flesh, white wine, garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, salt and pepper. Spread this cream on the meat and leave it to acquire taste for about 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and make a hole in the middle in order to insert a peeled carrot in it. Season them with salt.
  • Now, put the lamb and the marinade you made, along with the potatoes in a baking tray. Sprinkle the ingredients with olive oil and then place them in the oven for about 40 minutes.
  • Turn them every once in a while and sprinkle them with the marinade.
  • Boil the broccoli in water seasoned with salt.
  • When you serve the meat, put the potatoes cut into circles and the broccoli side by side and sprinkle them with the marinade. Use parsley to decorate.


Fact: If the lamb was hunted, don’t cook it in the same day. It will be tough.
