Squid au gratin

Squid au gratinThis is an original way of cooking squid. It’s a delicious recipe!


  • 52 ounces (1.5 kilos) squid
  • 3 eggs
  • 3.5 ounces (100 grams) butter
  • 6.6 fl.oz (2 decilitres) milk or cream
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour
  • Grated cheese to your taste
  • 2 big chopped onions
  • 2 carrots
  • 8.25 fl.oz ( 2.5 decilitres) white wine
  • Salt and pepper to your taste

How to make Squid au Gatin

  • Start by slightly cooking the butter, the onions and the carrots (all chopped into small pieces), after a while add the white wine. Let it boil a little and add the squid, cut into rings.
  • When the squid is cooked, add the milk or cream, the whipped eggs, the corn flour and let it thicken in low heat.
  • If the sauce evaporates too much, add more milk.
  • Pour your mix into a tray, powder it with grated cheese and place it in the oven at medium temperature.
  • You can use white rice as a side dish.
